Out 9:00 to 2:30 with lunch in the Peak Lodge; temps in the forties with plenty of sun and wind; 28 runs; 30,693 vertical; skied the Rossignol Avenger 76 Ti's; soft snow everywhere; good crowd, but never much of a lift line; skiing ok; did several runs skier's right on Upper Chute dodging the snowmaking clumps that fell off the trees - didn't displace a single one.

Day 12 - Killington

Day 85 - Killington
Out for a morning and an afternoon session; building overcast with temps around freezing and no wind; 15 runs; 19,600 vertical; started on the Rossignol Avenger 76 Ti's - I wanted to start on a putt putt ski this am given yesterday's incident with my right knee - everything was fine, so I changed to the Head i.Speed GS Cheater 17's for the afternoon; firming groomers; fair number of people this morning, but almost empty this afternoon; the last 3 on Stashway-BearClaw-Sunburst were very good - not sure if it was the snow or lack of people.

Day 12 - Killington
Post World Cup hangover. Out 9:00 to 1:30 with lunch at the Peak Lodge; K cloud in full effect - visibility at 0; 32° with heavy fog and winds building from the southeast - snow just started as I left; 16 run; 17,500 vertical; skied the Rossignol Avenger 76 Ti's; frozen groomers with soft spots; starting to really like making Highline laps off the Snowdon Triple's mid-station; skied several with Bob Sardelli - with the heavy fog he couldn't ski away (that's a joke); emotional and excitement hangover, not alcoholic; World Cup was great - see below.

Day 13 - Killington
Out 9:00 to 1:00 with a ½ hour coffee break in the Peak Lodge; mostly sunny with temps in the mid-forties at opening bell, but a front blew in from the northwest leaving temps in the mid-thirties with light snow and a howling northwest wind; 15 runs; 15,660 vertical; skied the Rossignol Avenger 76 Ti's; spectacular conditions today - Upper Chute was gorgeous first thing - smooth and carvable; Lower East Fall was spectacular later - smooth and carable - see the pattern?; skied most of the morning with David and Mel again; skiing ok, feeling ok; these skis are still a lot of fun.

Day 2 - Killington
Felt like winter today - some real nice skiing if you could handle all the guns. Out 9:00 to 11:30 without a break; started out with a high overcast, temps in the mid-twenties and a stiff breeze out of the SE - 32° snowing and windy when I left; 16 runs; skied the Rossignol Avenger 76 Ti's; snowmaking assault continues on Rime and Lower East Fall; conditions were stellar for early season - relatively flat with a nice grippy firmness to the surface; absolutely no thin spots - I could have skied the new Fischer RC4 The Curves; rain/snow forecast overnight - I'm expecting 3" of soup tomorrow morning.
