Family ski day with Uncle Bob and Aunt Georgia and family, 24 runs, 33,170 vertical.

Day 71 - Montage

Out 8:30 to 3:00 with a quick lunch break at the car to change skis; sunny and warm - temps in the upper forties with no wind; 24 runs; 14,621 vertical; skied the Atomic Redster G9 RS's, the 2019 Head i.Speed GS Cheater 17's, and the Atomic D2 3.0 Race GS's; groomers; typical Montage crowd - nobody early and all the newbs arrive around noon; NASTAR today: 9.95 hcp (Platinum).

Day 70 - Elk Mountain

Mid-Atlantic Master GS. Out 8:30 to 12:00 without any breaks; sunny with temps rising into the thirties and a slight breeze; 10 runs; 7,000 vertical; skied the Atomic Redster G9 RS's; skied horribly.

Day 69 - Montage

Beer League Race #6. 25.47 (3) 12.01 hcp (Platinum)

Out 4:00 to 5:30 just to race; clear and calm with temps in the twenties; 7 runs; 4,280 vertical; skied the Atomic D2 3.0 Race GS's and the Atomic Redster G9 RS's; groomers; Smoke was very good - they blew 2" of smooth chalk on the pitch; good result tonight - beat all the women.

Day 68 - Killington

Out 8:00 to 12:00 with coffee at the Ski Club; windy and cold with a diminishing overcast - temps in the teens - winds 30-40 mph from the north, gusts much higher - 2" or so more yesterday afternoon and evening; 18 runs; 24,205 vertical; skied the Nordica Enforcer 88's; soft groomers; lots of people; had to quit early with a physical ailment for the first time this season - my left calf and achilles tightened up just before coffee.

Day 67 - Killington

Out 8:00 to 3:00 with coffee back at the condo to change skis and lunch in the bar at Snowshed; snowing and windy - 2" or so by the time I quit; 28 runs; 36,597 vertical; skied the Atomic Redster G9 RS's and Blizzard Brahma #2's; groomers; some people did show up by noon;

Day 66 - Killington

Out 11:00 to 4:00 with lunch at the condo; mostly clear and windy with temps in the twenties; 22 runs; 26,771 vertical; skied the Blizzard Brahma #2's and the 2019 Head i.Speed GS Cheater 17 's; crunchy groomers; lots of people, but lots of lifts too; Double Dipper was firm and crunchy after it's first groom of the season - that's my favorite condition on my favorite slope so I did 15; glad for the slowness of the Canyon Quad today - top to bottom on a firm DD is a lot more work than zooming groomers for vert over on Bear.

Day 65 - Killington

Out 10:00 to 1:00 with just a coffee break at the Ski Club after I didn't go back out after lunch at the condo; clear and very cold, but thankfully very little wind - temp was -5° overnight, never out of the single digits today; 16 runs; 17,230 vertical; skied the Blizzard Brahma #2's; groomers where much firmer than yesterday, but still very carvable - not everything looked like the picture below; I couldn't get back around on the Snowdon Triple's mid-station before Barb and Rick skied over my tracks.

Day 64 - Killington

Out 9:00 to 4:00 with coffee at the Ski Club and lunch at the condo; yesterday's drizzle ended as 2" overnight - freezing drizzle once again this morning, but the temps dropped and it started snowing by noon; 24 runs; 31,869 vertical; skied the Blizzard Brahma #2's; new snow on groomers; holiday crowd already starting to build; the Brahmas aren't near as smeary as Enforcers; was very tired today, but I stuck it out to the end; skied a few with Todd and his wife Melida.

Day 63 - Killington

Out 9:00 to 4:00 with a few breaks at the Ski Club while racing and lunch at the condo; yesterday's rain ended as 2" of snow last night - partly sunny today with temps around 20° and some wind; 25 runs; 33,170 vertical; skied the Atomic Redster G9 RS's and the Nordica Enforcer 88's; fresh snow on groomers; Chute-Chute-Chute was all smooth creamy goodness first thing; finally beat all the women - Steph and Lauren, the two fastest women, weren't there but it still counts.

Day 62 - Killington

40,000 in the rain. Out 9:00 to 3:00 with lunch at the condo; freezing mist at the start turned to plain old light rain around 11:00 o'clock - full on K Cloud above mid-mountain - a pretty strong SW wind too; 30 runs; 40,515 vertical; skied the Atomic Redster G9 RS's and the Nordica Enforcer 88's; soft groomers; more people out than I would have thought given the rain; skiing ok.

Day 61 - Killington

Out 9:00 to 3:45 with coffee at the Ski Club and lunch in the Peak Lodge; 2" overnight ended as 2" more this morning - when the snow stopped so did the wind and it got extremely foggy; 30 runs; 36,443 vertical; skied the Volkl Mantras; fresh snow on groomers - very nice; not too many people given the snow - never a lift line; Skyeburst first thing was fun; skied the hill a little differently today, I covered all the trails on Bear and on Snowdon rather than lapping just my favorites.

Just out 5:00 to 6:15 to race; raining with temps around 40°; super soft - just shy of running water; 5 runs; 1,989 vertical; skied the Atomic Redster G9 RS's; just okay skiing, but a pretty good result.

Out 9:00 to 1:30 with coffee at the Ski Club; clear skies with temps around twenty and some wind; 17 runs; 19,689 vertical; skied the Atomic Redster G9 RS's; firm groomers; good sized crowd, but no lift lines; 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in my Ski Bum classification were separated by 0.15 seconds - of course I was the poor bastard in 4th...

Radvanyis and Company Day 3. Out 9:00 to 4:00 with lunch in the Peak Lodge; overcast with temps in the thirties; 32 runs; 39,397 vertical; skied the Atomic Redster G9 RS's; softening groomers with little to no moisture; light crowd; Superstar was stellar - Double Dipper was very nice too;

Radvanyis and Company Day 2. Out 9:00 to 4:15 with lunch back at the condo; overcast with temps around freezing and some wind - a little bit of freezing drizzle for about an hour this morning; 26 runs; 32,504 vertical; in the morning I skied Chris' Nordica Enforcer 100's, while he skied my G9's - switched to my Noridca Enforcer 88's in the afternoon; groomers; a little busy at Bear early, but generally a pretty light crowd;

Radvanyis and Company Day 1. Out 8:00 to 4:00 with coffee in KBL and lunch at the condo; mostly overcast with temps around freezing and light winds; 24 runs; 28,574 vertical; soft groomers, but some snow would help alot; good sized crowd, but it emptied out early for the Super Bowl;

Out at 8:00, home at 10:15 when I couldn't run away and hide any longer; overcast and calm with temps in the twenties; 11 runs; 11,650 vertical; skied the Nordica Enforcer 88's; soft groomers; really crowded right from opening bell; Cascade was marvelous; Bear chair down, so huge line at SPE4 - see below.
