Out 12:15 to 3:45 without a break; 1" overnight - cool, overcast and very windy today with temps in the upper twenties; 10 runs; 15,961 vertical; skied the Atomic Redster G9 RS's; firm and crunchy on an ungroomed Haywood - tons of branches and other debris on the other trails from last night's high winds; Team Summit Masters: 6 runs down a 15 gate GS course on Haywood - think across the hill thru transition and out to the rise line all the while switching egdes before starting to turn down once outside the rise line.

Out 12:15 to 3:45 without a break; windy and overcast with temps in the forties; 10 runs; 15,886 vertical; skied the 2024 Volkl RaceTiger SL World Cups; firm groomers; not much of a crowd; Team Summit Masters: added Jordan, Bill and Butch - 5 runs down a panel SL on Haywood; slow and twitchy;

Day 33 - Keystone

Out 12:45 to 3:45 without a break; overcast with temps in the thirties and a little wind; 8 runs, 12,477 vertical; skied the 2024 Volkl RaceTiger SL World Cups; firm groomers; crowded on the slope to start, but never a lift line; Team Summit Masters: first gates of the season - 4 runs down a 20m GS set using SL skis on Haywood - added Dr. Steve Myers - Haywood is a little short, but has plenty of terrain.

Out 8:30 to 11:15 without a break; a cool morning gave way to sunshine and temps in the thirties; 7 runs; 11,283 vertical; soft groomers; tons of people; Team Summit Masters - added Katarina and Takeo - drills.

Day 30 - Keystone

Out 8:30 to 11:00 without any breaks; sunny with temps quickly rising towards freezing; 6 runs; 9,561 vertical; skied the 2015 Vokl RaceTiger SL World Cups; soft groomers; big crowd; Team Summit Masters Day 1 - Matt, Tanya and me with a new English guy named Maxim; didn't ski well at all.

Day 29 - Breckenridge

Out 8:30 to 1:30 with lunch in the Vista Haus; sunny, warm and very windy - temps in the thirties even up high; 15 runs; 21,650 vertical; skied the 2019 Head i.Speed GS Cheater 17's; crusty, wind blown groomers; lots of people; lots of slow lifts today with all of the wind.

Day 28 - Arapahoe Basin

Out 9:00 to 1:45 with lunch in the bar; sunny and very windy with temps rising into the thirties; 26 runs; 24,936 vertical; skied the Atomic Redster G9 RS's and the Blizzard Bonafides; nice groomers; pretty big crowd, but never a lift line; lots of fast skiing this morning with new friend Bob.

Day 27 - Copper

Out 9:00 to 3:00 with breaks for coffee and lunch; mostly sunny skies with temps rising to somewhere around freezing and a wind that built all day; 24 runs; 35,155 vertical; skied the Atomic Redster G9 RS's; groomers; pretty big crowd; got on the first chair this morning and about half way up realized I was riding with Jim and Wendy Neal from Elk - we skied all day.

Day 26 - Copper

Out 9:00 to 2:00 with lunch in the Aerie; overcast with temps in the twenties and some wind; 21 runs; 29,886 vertical; skied the 2019 Head i.Speed GS Cheater 17's; fairly soft groomers; lots of people, but enough open to run and hide; Vein Glory off Woodward was really good and the chair was empty.

Day 25 - Keystone

Out 9:30 to 3:00 with lunch in the Mountain House Lodge; clearing skies with temps around 20° and a little wind; 18 runs; 32,669 vertical; skied the Blizzard Bonafides; lots of people, but never really a lift line; North Peak open; left shin better, till I actually closed the top buckle; made the first four runs with my Ikon Pass - I'm not sure what they were scanning.

Day 24 - Copper

Out 10:15 to 3:00 with lunch at JJ's; 5" overnight - snow all day with temps in the teens and some wind; 16 runs; 27,298 vertical; skied the Blizzard Bonafides again; powder and packed powder; plenty of people, but plenty of space with all the new terrain openings; Timberline opened today with Windsong skiing great; World Cup tear down well along, so it shouldn't be too much longer till all that terrain opens.

Day 23 - Arapahoe Basin

Out 9:00 to 1:00 with lunch in the bar; sunny, cold (9°) and windy ; 28 runs; 23,688 vertical; skied the Blizzard Bonafides; great snow; slow to start, but the crowd was building when I left; shin pain gone today - I don't know.

Day 22 - Copper

Out from 9:00 to 1:30 with lunch in the Aerie Lodge; a couple inches overnight - on and off snow all day, but no real accumulation - temps in the teens; 15 runs; 26,551 vertical; skied the Blizzard Bonafides; soft, flat groomer off Flyer early - plenty of firm snow off Eagle later; left shin still a problem.

Day 21 - Arapahoe Basin

Out 9:00 to 2:00 with breaks for both coffee and lunch; overcast with flurries, temps in the teens and a little wind; 23 runs; 23,779 vertical; skied the 2019 Head i.Speed GS Cheater 17's; the snow and grooming was pretty good; not too many people; used a Sidas gel pad on my left shin today - still had some shin pain above the top of the boot; white on white inside the cloud up top this morning - they marked the Z (path) out to the trail from the lift with green hazard poles; had a little trouble dealing with all the terrain variations when I couldn't distinguish between the air and the snow; the dense fog lifted by 11:00.

Day 20 - Arapahoe Basin

Only out 9:00 to 11:30 with a couple of breaks to warm up and deal with boot issues; 2" new snow overnight - mostly sunny with single digit temps and a little wind; 8 runs; 7,562 vertical; skied the K2 Mindbender 108 Ti's; wind blown snow on grooming up top and fairly firm groomer down low; very few people; lower left leg extremely sore in and around the boot cuff - after stopping for the second time to deal with it I just quit; thinking the cold weather stiffened my boots significantly contributing to today's sore shin; too cold for pictures and that's a damn shame because it certainly was a spectacular view up there with snow blowning over the peaks.
