Day 64 - Arapahoe Basin

Out 9:00 to 2:30 with lunch in the 6th Ally Bar and Grille; sunny and warm with a little wind and temps rising toward sixty; 29 runs; 29,587 vertical; skied the Blizzard Bonafides; ever softening groomers and other stuff; not much of a crowd; Ramrod was soft, smooth, carvy perfection; did 3 Grizzly Road/Radical/Ramrod off Pali after lunch; ended with Pali Main Street.

Day 63 - Vail

Out 8:30 to 2:00 with lunch at Mid-Vail; sunny and warm with a little wind and temps rising toward fifty; 25 runs; 33,912 vertical; skied the Blizzard Bonafides; frozen groomers early to slush later; big crowd, but I ran and hid effectively; Bawana off Pride Express was good.

Day 62 - Copper

Out 9:00 to 2:15 with lunch at JJ's; sunny, warm and windy with temps rising near forty; 14 runs; 29,704 vertical; skied the 2025 Atomic Redster GS RS's and the Blizzard Bonafides; dreamy groomers early and various soft stuff later; huge crowd right from the start; Andy's/Oh No/Rosie's and Collage were groomed and dreamy; did 3 Formidable and 1 Triple Treat off Alpine after lunch then left when I couldn't get to the back side because the Excelerator and Woodward lines were too big.

Day 61 - Beaver Creek

Out 8:45 to 4:00 with lunch at the Broken Arrow Restaurant; light snow to start, but otherwise overcast with temps rising into the twenties and thankfully only a little wind; 29 runs; 48,781 vertical; skied the 2025 Atomic Redster G9 RS's; firm groomers; pretty big crowd, but I found a new hiding spot - the Arrow Bahn Express; Cresta off said Arrow Bahn Express is a new favorite.

Day 60 - Keystone

Out 1:00 to 4:15 without a break; 3" overnight - sunny, cold and very windy this afternoon with temps only in the teens; 12 runs; 20,274 vertical; skied the Blizzard Bonafides; exceptionally firm groomers and a little styrofoam; not too many people - never a liftline anywhere; rode the Bergman's Bowl chair for the first time - skied Ptarmagan; very very windy - Gondola and Outback closed - uphill wind everywhere; tons of ICE on the bottom pitches of all the black groomers - Starfire, Mozart, Diamond Back;

Day 59 - Copper

Out 9:00 to 1:00 with lunch at JJ's; sunny and cool with a whistling wind and temps rising into the thirties; 13 runs; 24,576 vertical; skied the 2025 Atomic Redster G9 RS Revoschocks; groomers; big crowd - left when linftines got too big; Ptarmigan/Bouncer early was pure joy; I miss having a parking pass - changing skis at lunch and running away from the frontside, afternoon crowds wasn't an option; witnessed a triple shotski at JJ's.

Day 58 - Crested Butte

Out 9:00 to 3:00 with lunch mid-mountain at Oley's Cabin; cool and sunny with a little wind and temps in the thirties; 27 runs; 37,057 vertical; skied the Volkl M5 Mantras; firm groomers; not really crowded at all; the views here are incredible; Upper Keystone/International was spectacular; still absolutely love these skis.

Day 57 - Monarch

Well that didn't work as planned - no snow in the forecast when I scheduled Monarch/Crested Butte, then I woke up having to drive thru 4" of suprise snow overnight at home only to find Monarch without any new snow and basically on wind hold; only out for the first hour; sunny and very windy today with temps around freezing; 4 runs; 3,223 vertical; skied the Nordica Enforcer 88's; groomers; pretty big crowd; wind hold on all but one lift - left when the line got huge; more snow and better cover here on the ground than anywhere I've been so far this season.

Day 56 - Vail

out 8:30 to 1:45 with a coffee break at Mid-Vail; sunny and windy with temps in the thirties; 21 runs; 30,985 vertical; skied the Volkl Mantras; carvy groomers that softened nicely in the sun; lots of people, but I ran and hide from all the liftlines; love these skis; fantastic groomers everywhere - Born Free, Bwana, Avanti, Pickeroon, Gandy Dancer and Roger's Run.

Day 55 - Steamboat

Out 8:30 to 2:00 with lunch in the Rendezvous Lodge; sunny and warm with a little wind and temps rising into the forties; 17 runs; 29,791 vertical; skied the 2019 Head i.Speed GS Cheater 17's; firm groomers with some chuncks to start, softer snow later and lower; lots of people and a few liftlines; first time here since the new gondola; all groomers except 3 O'Clock and Sundown Liftline; Bar-UE, Pony Express and Morningside all closed.

Day 54 - Breckenridge

Out 8:30 to 12:45 with lunch in the Vista Haus; 3" overnight with an addition 3"+ this morning - snowing hard with temps around twenty and very little wind; 13 runs; 16,908 vertical; skied the K2 Mindbender 108 Ti's; powder with some scrapy spots underneath, but overall excellent snow and tons of fun; lots of people, but no lift lines except the one time on 6 Chair; love Breck - got to the Colorado Super Chair at 8:25 and it was already loading; the first couple were sublime; Mineshaft and Callie's Ally were fun later; no Imperial.

Day 52 - Breckenridge

Out 10:30 to 1:30 without a break after dropping Bob at his airport shuttle; temps well into the forties with brilliant sunshine and very little wind; 13 runs; 14,791 vertical; skied the Blizzard Bonafides; firm groomers on 7, styrofoam up on Imperial, corn off 6 Chair and various crap off E Chair; crowded shuttle in from the parking lot, but never really a crowd anywhere else I went; No Name, Amen and Hombre off 6 Chair were very good; the steep stuff off E Chair was crap snow, but a lot of fun none the less; did Windows for the first time ever - missed the 'open slot' and ended up wallowing around in the soft snow and tight trees.

Out 9:00 to 1:00 with coffee in the Black Mountain Lodge; 2" overnight; today some sun, some clouds, some snow and some wind with temps in the twenties; 12 runs, 12,467 vertical; skied the Blizzard Bonafides; some soft groomers to start with the new snow and some firm styrofoam later; Wilson and Stielhang were good; Bob Day 6.

Day 49 - Keystone

Out 1:00 to 4:15 without a break; 2" overnight - today, a little sun, a little wind, a few clouds and a few flurries; 11 runs; 22,554 vertical; carvy groomers - last night's snow melded into the existing snowpack beautifully; sikied the Blizzard Bonafides; virtually no liftlines this afternoon - plenty of people on the hill, but not lines; Bob Day 4.

Day 48 - Vail

Out 8:30 to 12:30 with coffee at Mid-Vail; warm and sunny with no wind and temps rising into the forties; 12 runs; 16,478 vertical; skied the 2019 Head i.Speed GS Cheater 17's; firm groomers quickly softening in the brilliant sunshine; the crowd for Vail on a Saturday was very, very manageable - stuck to the front side and only passed on the Mountaintop Express because of the long line; a half dozen Born Free curisers before we left; Bob day 3.

Day 47 - Beaver Creek

Out 8:30 to 2:30 with coffee and lunch at the Spruce Saddle Lodge; sunny and warm with a little wind and temps rising into the forties; 16 runs; 21,648 verticl; skied the Volkl M5 Mantras; groomers early, all sorts of stuff later; lots of people, but this was BC so no lift lines; after lunch I skied the Men's Birds of Prey Downhill Course - those guys are nuts to do that at speed even if it is flat when they do it; Bob Day 2.

Day 46 - Breckenridge

Out 9:15 to 12:45 with a coffee break at Pioneer Crossing; 2" overnight - windy and warm with temps in the twenties and heavy snow till around 11:30 - 2 or 3" more this AM; 7 runs; 9,746 vertical; skied the Volkl Kendos; powder and packed powder; fair number of people, but never a lift line; Bob Day 1.

Day 45 - Breckenridge

Out 9:45 to noon with a quick bathroom break in the Vista Haus; sunny, warm and very windy with temps in the thirties; 8 runs; 12,057 vertical; skied the 2019 Head i.Speed GS Cheaters; wind blown groomers mostly; lots of people, but no real liftlines; hit Kensho and the T-Bar, but the wind on Imperal looked vicious so I passed; totally recovered from the rib injury.

Day 44 - Vail

Out 8:30 to 12:45 with lunch at the Two Elk Lodge; another inch overnight - cloudy with temps in the twenties and virtually no wind; 12 runs; 17,205 vertical; skied the 2019 Head i.Speed GS Cheater 17's; groomers - plenty of other terrain was open, but it looked way to thin to ski without hitting something; Friday before a holiday means a really big crowd; Born Free, Pickeroon and Columbine were all very nice; took a bad spill right after lunch and had to quit; broke down and retired the Lange RS World Cup ZBs, finally started using the Nordica Doberman 5 Ss.

Out 9:00 to 10:45 no break; 1" new snow overnight - clouds up and down, snow on and off with temps in the twenties and little to no wind this morning; 8 runs; 8,450 vertical; skied the Nordica Enforcer 88's; very few people; left when I went in and there were no bathrooms open - okay my right foot was killing me too; Pali and Beavers, but no Montezuma.

Day 42 - Winter Park

Out 9:00 to 12:45 with lunch at Lunch Rock; snow on the drive in with flurries all day and temps in the twenties; 16 runs; 18,551 vertical; skied the Volkl Kendos; this morning's dust on crust covered all the crap - no snow here either; lots of people, but no lift lines.

Day 41 - Eldora

Out 9:00 to 12:45 with a quick coffee break; this morning's cloud inversion morphed into a light snow by the time I left - temps around 30° with no wind; 17 runs; 21,069 vertical; skied the Volkl Kendos; some firm groomers and a little crunchy styrofoam; very light crowd; some nice snowmaking trails off the Corona lift - Corona, Wolf Tougue, Alpenhorn, and Mule Shoe; zero snow on the ground from just below the tunnel on I-70 and up CO-119 all the way to Nederland.

Out 8:30 to 12:30 with a lunch break at Duke's in Center Village; sunny with temps quickly rising above freezing with no wind; 8 runs; 11,783 vertical; skied the 2019 Head i.Speed GS Cheater 17's; firm groomers; pretty big crowd for a Thursday; skied with Marc Brumbaugh and friends today; we ran NASTAR - 26 hcp - gold; right boot is a problem again :( .

Knocking off the rust this morning; out 8:30 to 11:00 without a break; clear and cool with temps in the teens and absolutly no wind; 9 runs; 11,539 vertical; skied the Blizzard Bonafides; not very crowded at all; just enough new snow overnight to soften the groomers a little; Hombre off 6 Chair was very good - lots of new snow and just shallow enough pitch so that it wasn't totally scraped off underneath.

Day 36 - Laurel Mountain

Did a couple hours before it started to rain; cloudy with temps near fifty; 11 runs, 7,600 vertical; skied the Blizzard Bonafides; the snow was soft and wet; a few people, but I rode the chair single every time; very nice little ski hill; definately coming back here to ski again.
